Dior Pink Design 5-Colour Eye Palette: A Perfect Excuse to Try More Pinks and Purples - Makeup and Beauty Blog
How do y'all feel about purple eyeshadows? Or pinks? If you're not a fan, I totally become it. I love 'em at present, but I used to avoid both (CORRECTION: I merely fixed a typo in this judgement. I Practice like pinks and purple eyeshadows now, only at one time I didn't) because I idea they made me look kinda trashy and tow upwards…like I only lost the kind of true cat fight where girls remove their big hoop earrings and bust out the Vaseline before going toe to toe in the schoolyard (NOTE: violence is not the answer, kids).
Merely if y'all're even a teeny, tiny bit curious about pinkish and purple eyeshadows, Dior'southward $58 Pink Design five-Colour Eyeshadow Palette might exist an elegant (albeit expensive) style to get to know them better.
It'due south one of two five-Colour heart quints from Dior's fall 2010 collection. With a sheer and creamy irised eyeshadow base, a dark purplish blackness liner and eyeshadows in shimmery purple, shimmery purplish-pink and glittery pink, it covers all the bases for some very chic cool-toned looks.
Working with purples and pinks can be trickier than working with piece of cake-peasy neutrals. Assuming lines can be tougher to blend away, just Pinkish Pattern's shades and textures, like those of other Dior shadows I've tried, abide by my brushes and feel very beginner-friendly to me.
More to like…
- Dior sprinkled the pinkish shade with a healthy dose of fine glitter (aka "good glitter"), giving the palette a fun, flirty vibe.
- The creamy purple liner expertly draws opaque, solid lines without any skipping and adheres nicely to the lash line (simply it struggles along my waterline)
- I didn't call back I'd like the iridescent base at first (idea it looked direct upward white in the pan), only I do; information technology applies as a sheer, opalescent pink white that flatters lids even when used by itself
Swatches from left to right (for reference, I'k an NC35): shimmery purple eyeshadow, iridescent base of operations, shimmery pinkish eyeshadow, glittery pink eyeshadow, dark royal cream liner
Later a brusk time playing with the palette this afternoon (distressing I didn't take a face shot, only I program to use the palette once more), I gotta say — I think I like this a little more than than terminal year's Night Butterfly palette, likewise from Dior. That i was absurd-toned besides. Although I really loved its deeper, darker colors, Pinkish Design's shades feel a touch more than clothing and useful to me.
The major drawback, of course, is the $58 price. Yeah, the pans are large, and the quality's in that location, only that's a lot to ask for one palette, even one this good. Available at Nordstrom stores and online at nordstrom.com. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+
Improv Conditioning 101
Today at lunch I hopped on the treadmill to go my sweat on, and right before I started moving, I realized that I'd lost my iPod armband (I take a sneaking suspicion Tabs had something to do with information technology). Since I don't like to can't run without music, I MacGyver'd this improv iPod holder using a headband:
I took the pic with my phone, hence the Blair-witchy quality
Information technology slipped a little, just it got the job done, huzzah!
So how was your Wednesday? It looks like we made it over the hump. For that I vote we gloat with Nutella. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
